What to do in case of an accident or breakdown

1. Stay calm.

2. Assess yourself first for injuries. If you or someone else is injured, call 911 or have someone call for you and remain in the vehicle.

3. If no-one is injured and it is safe to do so, remove vehicles from the roadway.

4. If damage is minimal to none, exchange information with the other parties involved. (Names, drivers license #, address, phone number, insurance information and vehicle particulars.)

5. If any, obtain the names and phone numbers of witnesses.

6. If you are not injured, examine the damage to your vehicle.

7. The Highway Traffic Act requires that all collisions where persons are injured or damage valued at more than $1000.00 to vehicles or property, or damage to any highway property be reported to police immediately.  WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU CALL POLICE IN ANY CASE.

8. For a mechanical breakdown, try to move the vehicle to a safe location.

9. Whether it's an accident or a breakdown, know your location so that we can find you as quickly as posible.

10. To help ensure the proper equipment is sent, know the year, make and model of the vehicle and the nature of the breakdown.
